Lower Half (106-145): Four starters return a year ago, led by two-time District medal winner, senior Joe Santamarco. Sophomore Mike Goebel and junior Joe Hamias both won 13 matches in 2014 and will be looking to hit the 20+ mark in 2015. Among the new faces expected to crack the lineup are a pair of promising freshmen in AJ Sortino at 106 and Anthony Coposky at 126.
Upper Half (152-Hwt): Manalapan has a strong senior presence in the upper half of the lineup, led by returning District champion, and 2-time placer, Jake Kaminsky and another 2-time medalist, Steven Chandler. The stretch at 195-Hwt has potential to be very solid for the Braves with double-digit winners Anthony Torrillo, Joe Marano, and Peter Williams all returning and capable of hitting the 20+ mark this year. Freshman Peter Benedetti should see extended time in this mix, as well.
Outlook: The Braves return a solid core from last season's 16-win team. They'll be particularly tough in the middle with the senior trio of Santamarco, Kaminsky, and Chandler, as well as returning starter Justin Obermeyer, a sophomore. The top of the lineup took a ding to graduation with the departure of Anthony Benedetti and Ben Aquilina, but this group still has potential to be a pretty strong point for the Braves. The A-North division will be tough with Howell and CBA lurking up top and Manalapan will get a good look at where they are right out of the gate when they host CBA on 12/23.
