2/23: Season Ends For McGilvray & Orlando At Regions
Seniors Kevin McGilvray and Mike Orlando's seasons came to an end on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 2010 Region 6 Wrestling Tournament at the Ritacco Center in Toms River.
McGilvray dropped a 6-4 decision to Luis Filipe of Long Branch and ends the year with a record of 29-5 with 12 pins. Orlando also lost a 6-4 decision with his loss coming to TR East's John Clark. He finishes the year with a record of 24-9 with 13 pins.

2010 Season Preview

Several starters return, and a talented cast of freshmen join the lineup, giving Manalapan a very deep team in 2010 that is looking to build itself back into one of the Shore's top programs.
Senior Kevin McGilvray and junior Reggie Hodge-Grant are the returning wins leaders and spearhead a group that has a lot of depth. Among that depth are returning starters Christian Shea, Connor Wilson, and Matt Stevenson. Freshmen Mike Aronson, Sal Geloso, Ed Chandler, and Mike Isabella will all see action.
Seniors John Wilson and Luke Harary both hit double digits in wins in 2009 and will be looked upon to provide leadership in an upperweight group that is otherwise fairly inexperienced. Despite the inexperience, there are few wrestlers here that are capable of having some very good seasons.

An injury default in the District semis cost McGilvray a shot at a trip to the Regions last season. A four year starter, he has the ability to have a breakout year in the middle of the lineup for the Braves.
DESPO's Outlook
Manalapan lost six starters to graduation, but with the potential to have as many as ten seniors in the lineup, the Braves are looking to continue to move forward and improve on their win total of 17 from a year ago. Along with the seniors, there are some talented freshmen here too giving Coach Pressman a lot of depth and flexibility with the lineup. In tight matches it could come down to the "senior edge" that will more often than not go into their favor. This will be a very interesting team to keep an eye on early, because if all these seniors pull together they could have a very big year.

2/23: Season Ends For McGilvray & Orlando At Regions
Seniors Kevin McGilvray and Mike Orlando's seasons came to an end on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 2010 Region 6 Wrestling Tournament at the Ritacco Center in Toms River.
McGilvray dropped a 6-4 decision to Luis Filipe of Long Branch and ends the year with a record of 29-5 with 12 pins. Orlando also lost a 6-4 decision with his loss coming to TR East's John Clark. He finishes the year with a record of 24-9 with 13 pins.

2010 Season Preview

Several starters return, and a talented cast of freshmen join the lineup, giving Manalapan a very deep team in 2010 that is looking to build itself back into one of the Shore's top programs.
Senior Kevin McGilvray and junior Reggie Hodge-Grant are the returning wins leaders and spearhead a group that has a lot of depth. Among that depth are returning starters Christian Shea, Connor Wilson, and Matt Stevenson. Freshmen Mike Aronson, Sal Geloso, Ed Chandler, and Mike Isabella will all see action.
Seniors John Wilson and Luke Harary both hit double digits in wins in 2009 and will be looked upon to provide leadership in an upperweight group that is otherwise fairly inexperienced. Despite the inexperience, there are few wrestlers here that are capable of having some very good seasons.

An injury default in the District semis cost McGilvray a shot at a trip to the Regions last season. A four year starter, he has the ability to have a breakout year in the middle of the lineup for the Braves.
DESPO's Outlook
Manalapan lost six starters to graduation, but with the potential to have as many as ten seniors in the lineup, the Braves are looking to continue to move forward and improve on their win total of 17 from a year ago. Along with the seniors, there are some talented freshmen here too giving Coach Pressman a lot of depth and flexibility with the lineup. In tight matches it could come down to the "senior edge" that will more often than not go into their favor. This will be a very interesting team to keep an eye on early, because if all these seniors pull together they could have a very big year.
